Inspired by the lyrism and brutalism of the natural landscapes
- by the cinetic energy and solar wind
She enjoys experiencing and observing the poetry of wild landscapes and ocean scenes, the raw energy of their primal elements.
She is fascinated by the way the wind itself can shift perception and scatter thoughts in new directions.
"I love the sensation of the wind carrying my thoughts away, like the breath that sets a dandelion adrift, releasing everything into the air".
These solar and environmental aspects connect with broader fields that designer Virginie Knysak has explored through her architectural background. In line with the bioclimatic architecture approach pioneered by Frank Lloyd Wright (Circular Sun House, Spiral House, Jacobs II House, ...) or Albert Frey, her artworks are structured like architectural plans and models, reflecting her training as an architect and her interest for geology.
Brutal landscape scenes are punctuated by fragile, punchy-colored touches that create a sense of grace, as the sun reshapes the entire scene.
BREATHING - WIND | DANCE
For Virginie, who trained in the technique of New York choreographer and contemporary dance pioneer Martha Graham and embraces her vision of dance as “the breath made visible,” time is like the wind — unseen, fleeting, yet revealed in its passage. Through her works, she seizes fleeting moments, each one like a snapshot frozen in time.
