The work explores the quest for synchronisation — within oneself and in love.
There is a reference to Andromache, a tragedy about love written by the French 17th-century writer Racine, inspired by a passage from Homer’s Iliad :
“Orestes loves Hermione, who loves Pyrrhus, who loves Andromache, who loves Hector, who is dead...”
This story, recounting the never-synchronised emotions of four tormented characters, is symbolised by the four circles.

The wood cardboard has been used as the main material.
It recalls the colour of the Parisian Haussmannian buildings surrounding the designer, and the old books—symbols of culture and time.

Icarus in the mythology, by escaping the labyrinth, soared into the sky; going too high and too close to the sun, he burnt his beautiful handcrafted wings and fell. An adage revealing a feature of our human society.
The lines are pure, while the edges of the wings’ mechanics are burnt by the use of laser technique, bringing a subtle blurred aspect to the contours.
The structure of the matrix is architectural : the drawing extends over the bas-relief itself.
The laser technique becomes the medium of creation. At the workshop, designer Virginie Knysak carried out many experiments to fine-tune the right power. It gives each piece a singular touch.
